Chipboard is a unique product made from recycled materials. In a previous life, chipboard may have been a cardboard box, newspaper, paper bags or any other general paper product. All of these pre-used products are mixed in a large machine with scalding hot water. This water helps to break down the fibers that are then mixed with metal blades. This mixture is then filtered with magnets for unusable metal objects such as paper clips and staples. This oatmeal-like mixture is then processed and compressed to form a product called chipboard.

Chipboard is often used as the last sheet on a pad of paper. It is denser and thicker than paper and gives good stability for this application.

Chipboard is often used for slipsheets and divider pads. It can be cut and notched into partitions (see below). It is widely used in the printing industry for dividers or separators. Chipboard can also be die cut into folding cartons.

Chipboard partitions are used for delicate products and large castings, as well as any item subject to breakage or damage in shipment. Chipboard partitions cost less than corrugated. Chipboard can save 30% to 50% over corrugated, however, corrugated partitions are also available. Awkward shapes are particularly suited to chipboard partitions. Partition aircells provide proper cushioning for delicate products.

Custom partitions can be custom made to best suit the needs of the customers product. Partitions are available for all standard size cartons. Cell partitions are specifically designed for bulk packaging. Partitions are assembled, ready for use, packed in cartons with the customer's name, quantity, description and purchase order number. Cartons are packed on pallets, banded and shrink wrapped. All of our fiberboard partitions are made from recycled material and are themselves recyclable.

Solid Fiber Kraft Paperboard is the strongest and least expensive option for slipsheets. It is many times stronger then recycled chipboard at a slightly higher cost. Solid fiber slipsheets have many other benefits as seen below.
